What is the population of endangered birds?

According to the IUCN Red List, there are currently 1,469 bird species listed as threatened, which includes species that are critically endangered, endangered, or vulnerable. These threatened bird species represent approximately 13.5% of all known bird species in the world. The population sizes of these endangered birds vary greatly, ranging from a few dozen individuals to several hundred thousand. Some of the most critically endangered bird species include the Spix's Macaw (Cyanopsitta spixii) with a population of just over 100 individuals, the Northern Bald Ibis (Geronticus eremita) with a population of around 250 individuals, and the Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Eurynorhynchus pygmeus) with a population estimated to be less than 1,000 individuals.
