Instructions
Place a medium-sized cardboard box into a dark, quiet room in the home.
Close all of the windows in the room and place a few small blankets in the bottom of the box for warmth.
Drape a blanket halfway over the top of the box to keep the box warm but allow the mother cat to still come and go as needed.
Place the mother cat's food, water and litter box near the birthing box so that she doesn't have to go far from her kittens.
How to Make a Box for a Cat to Give Birth In
If you have a pregnant cat, it's natural to worry about how and where she will give birth to her kittens. It is relatively easy to create a cat birthing box at home and place it in an area where she will be comfortable. Once she's learned to begin sleeping in the box, it's likely that she will return there when she goes into labor.
