Instructions
Brush your cat with a cat grooming brush/comb everyday. "Daily brushing and combing remove loose and dead hair and help keep a cat's skin and coat healthy...," according to the CozyCatFurniture.com website. The more frequently you brush your cat to remove dead and loose hair, the less she will shed.
Pet your cat with rubber gloves on. The excess loose and dead fur will attach to the rubber gloves. When finished, immerse the rubber gloves in a bucket of water to remove the excess fur. Dump the water outside.
Change your cat's food. Healthier cat foods that are high in vitamins, fish oils, and omega-3 fatty acids help to strengthen your cat's coat. A healthy coat will reduce shedding.
Vacuum your home three times a week. Vacuuming will effectively remove the hard-to-see fur in your carpet, and on the floor and furniture.
Train your cat to prevent it from jumping on your furniture. Although many people don't mind having animals on their furniture, you'll see much more fur getting onto your clothing that way.
Spray topical anti-shedding sprays onto your cat. These sprays help to improve and strengthen the coat and skin of your cat to reduce shedding. Consult with your vet before starting your cat on a topical regiment.
