Things You'll Need
- Pet comb
- Baby shampoo
- Apple cider vinegar
Instructions
Preparation
Fill a tub with warm water.
Add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the water. Mix well with your hand.
Brush your cat with a pet comb before entering the bathing area.
Getting Rid of the Fleas
Place your cat in the tub and begin to coat your pet's skin with the water you have mixed.
Add some non-toxic, mild baby shampoo to the mixture and continue to lather your cat.
Keep your cat in the tub for several minutes to let the apple cider vinegar and shampoo soak in.
Rinse off your cat thoroughly. While the cat is still wet, use the pet comb to brush the dead fleas away. Start at the animal's head area and work your way down.
Remove your cat from the tub and dry your pet with a soft towel.
Prevent Re-infestation
Wash your cat's bedding in hot water before allowing your clean pet to cuddle up again in its favorite spot.
Vacuum your home. Make sure to get in all corners where fleas may have laid their eggs.
Consider keeping your cat as a house cat. Cats that roam the outdoors are more likely to get fleas than a house cat.
