How to Remove Skunk Odor From a Cat Without Bathing it

When you think of a pet getting sprayed by a skunk, you usually think of a dog. Sometimes, cats and skunks might meet, resulting in an unhappy, smelly cat. The most common remedy for skunk odor removal involves bathing the animal, but this is not always possible for a cat, because it is difficult at best to bathe a cat. Skunk odor is treatable and removable without bathing the cat, saving the cat’s dignity and leaving your arms and face scratch- and bite-free.

For a longer-haired cat, cut its hair short to remove the worst of the smell. Enlist a friend or family member to hold your cat still while you snip off the ends of his fur with scissors or pet clippers. Discard the hair in a dumpster to stop the odor from penetrating your living space.
