Cats make great pets and in general they are very clean animals. However, some cats do have a problem with fur balls. Cats with fur ball problems tend to be longer haired cats with a great deal of thick fur. There is a solution to helping your cat overcome their fur ball problem.
First, you should groom your cat each day. Brushing the fur coat at least 20 strokes with a soft cat brush will cut down on the amount of hair consumed each time the cat licks him or herself. Excess fur in the cat's digestive tract causes nausea and the tendency to spit up not only fur but food also.
Next, you can purchase a hairball remedy from your pet store or vet. The hairball remedy contains mostly natural ingredients including corn syrup and other chemicals that help the cat digest any fur that is consumed through grooming or licking.
Cats make great pets but you must make sure they eat right, have regular check-ups and are free from hairballs.
