Instructions
Groom your cat for 10 to 15 minutes each day. Use a brush with either metal bristles or soft bristles made of natural materials that will be gentle on your cat's skin and fur. Brush the cat outside if possible to reduce shedding in the house.
Bathe or wipe down your cat as often as once a week if you're prone to cat allergies. Bathing can be done with a shampoo specifically made for cats that has been diluted to one-part shampoo to five-parts lukewarm water. If your cat is not bath-friendly, wipe him down with a damp cloth to help remove dander and cat fur.
Vacuum your house on a weekly basis. A clean home can prevent cat fur and dander from affecting those with allergies.
Feed your cat nutritious food or introduce vitamins to his diet to promote good skin and fur conditions. Also, use monthly parasite control to prevent fleas and other parasites from affecting your cat's skin and fur. A healthy cat will shed less fur than a cat that is sick or has parasites.
