How to Remove Oil Paint From Cats

You forgot to put your oil paints away, and your sneaky kitty found a new place to stick his paws or bottom. Maybe he even crashed right down and rolled in the paint. Cats love to find a new thing to sit on. You don't want to cut or shave off your cat's beautiful fur, and soap and water doesn't get out oil paint. All you have to do is subject your cat to a little bit of kitty torture to get the paint out of his fur.

Things You'll Need

  • Cooking oil
  • Soap and water

Instructions

Hold your kitty firmly without hurting him. You may want to do this in a sink or bathtub. Pour cooking oil, such as olive oil, over his fur where he has paint and rub the oil in over the paint. This will loosen the oil-based paint and make it moist and removable.

Wipe paint and cooking oil off with paper towels. Most of the paint should come off.

    • 3

Wash your kitty with soap and water in the areas you used the cooking oil on. The rest of the paint should come off in the bath.
