Things You'll Need
- Comb
- Damp cloth
- Nail clippers
- Cotton balls
Instructions
Comb your Siamese gently, allowing loose hairs to come out. Using a brush can be too rough, pulling out hairs and startling the cat.
Use your hand to groom the Siamese even more gently. Wet down both of your hands and run them lightly over the cat. The loose hairs will stick to the moisture on your hands. This is perhaps the most enjoyable way to groom a cat.
Wipe the eyes with a small, damp cloth as needed to keep them clear. If possible, pet the cat with one hand while cleaning the eyes with the other to keep the cat calm.
Cut the tips of the Siamese cat's nails to prevent them from becoming a potential danger to the cat. Siamese cants can't retract their claws completely, leaving some portion out at all times. A set of human nail clippers can be used to clip the cat's nails. Look at the nail closely and find the vein in the back of each nail. Be careful to cut below the vein and not to sever it.
Clean the inside of the ears with a cotton ball to remove the dust and debris that can accumulate in the large ears of the Siamese.
