Give your cat plenty of fresh water to drink. This will keep her from becoming dehydrated and will help break up mucus congestion causing the buildup.

    • 2

Clean your cat̵7;s nose often with a warm wet wash cloth. Gently wipe away mucus from her nose to help keep nasal passages open and prevent mucus from crusting.

Put your cat in a room with a humidifier for about 10 minutes to help breakup mucus congestion and open nasal passages. Repeat this treatment three times a day until your cat feels better.

Run the shower in your bathroom until the room is steamy. Bring your cat into the bathroom and let her breathe in the steam for about 10 minutes to help loosen mucous and moisturize your cat̵7;s nasal passages

Tap one side of your cat̵7;s rib cage gently with your hand in a cupped position to break up mucus. Do this to each side two to three times a day to help loosen mucus and ease congestion.
