Instructions

    • 1

Wash your cat thoroughly with flea shampoo. Dry your cat with an unused cloth, and wait until your cat is completely dry -- usually one or two hours. While your cat is drying, move it to a sterile environment that is flea-free. Ensure your cat does not venture outside this area.

    • 2

Apply a topical cat flea treatment by placing the liquid along your cat's spine or the back of its neck. By applying it only in these areas, it will minimize the risk of the cat licking the product when cleaning itself.

    • 3

Comb through your cat's coat with your flea comb, and remove the dead flea eggs -- white specks about half the size of a grain of rice.

    • 4

Keep your cat in the sterile zone while you thoroughly vacuum its living space. By doing this, you will remove any eggs that may be present. Flea eggs can remain dormant for up to two months.
