Things You'll Need
- Water bowl
Instructions
Watch your cat's activity level. Cats have been known to be champion nappers, but if your cat is abnormally lethargic, it may be dehydrated.
Look at your cat's eyes. If the eyes appear to be sunken in, this may be another indication of dehydration.
Pull a section of skin between the shoulder blades or near the neck gently upward. The skin should immediately fall back into place. If the skin remains raised, this may indicate an absence of fluid in the cat's skin, meaning the cat is dehydrated.
Monitor your cat's food intake. When a cat is dehydrated, its appetite may decrease.
Watch your cat's breathing. If its breathing is rapid and it begins panting, this can also be an indication of dehydration.
