How to Keep Your Cat From Licking Advantage Off Its Neck

Fleas and ticks do more than just irritate your pet. The little pests can invade your house, spreading itchy welts and even illness. It's far easier to prevent a flea infestation than to treat one. A popular form of flea treatment is the Advantage spot treatments. Consumers break open a single use vial and place the liquid on the cat's neck. The cat's skin oils carry the chemical all over the cat's body. Insects that bite the cat die instantly. According to Bayer, the Advantage manufacturer, the chemicals are harmful to the cat when ingested.
