Cats and kittens develop bad breath because of poor oral hygiene. Responsibility falls on the owner to clean their teeth. As with humans, brushing the teeth and tongue helps solve the problem. In addition to brushing teeth, there are treats and foods that also help clean cat's teeth. If brushing does not help after a week, take your cat to a vet. They may have an infection causing the odor. Introduce tooth brushing slowly, especially with older cats, to reduce stress.
