Instructions
Check your cat's diet. According to Kitty Cat, cats need food that is high in meat protein, not vegetable protein. If the first ingredient listed on your cat food isn't meat, switch to a higher-protein cat food. Spray salmon oil on the cat food, which will decrease the dryness of the cat's skin.
Set up a humidifier in a room that your cat frequents the most. This will keep the air moist so that your cat's skin doesn't dry out and flake.
Brush your cat on a regular basis. Brushing will not only remove some of the dandruff but it will also help your cat get rid of loose fur.
Bathe your cat with a dandruff shampoo made for cats. Once your cat's dandruff is gone, use a hypoallergenic cat shampoo with a moisturizing conditioner to keep your cat from getting dandruff again in the future.
Set up a consultation with your veterinarian. Some cats can have dandruff if they are diabetic. It is important to make sure the dandruff isn't a symptom of a more severe illness.
