Natural Way to Cure Ear Mites in Cats

Ear mites are not uncommon in household pets like cats and dogs. Ear mites are microscopic parasites that live on the inner surface of your cat's ears and they are easily transmitted from one pet to another. In fact, a human can even transmit ear mites from one pet to another, although humans are not affected by the mites. If your cat has ear mites, you can often treat the condition naturally with a home remedy.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold your cat still so it cannot shake its head. Clean your cat's ears by administering 1 or 2 eyedroppers-full of vegetable oil into each ear. Clean one ear at a time. Gently massage the outside of your cat's ear to allow the oil to loosen any dirt and debris. Use a cotton ball to gently wipe away excess dirt and oil. Do not go deep into your cat's ears or press hard when swabbing the inside of the ear.

Mix 1/2 oz. of almond oil with the contents of a 400-IU capsule of vitamin E in a sanitized glass jar. Stir the two ingredients together with an eyedropper. Do this before each dose to ensure they are well-blended.

Fill an eyedropper half way with the almond oil and vitamin E mixture and apply it to your cat's ears, one ear at a time. Massage the outside of the ears, then remove the excess from inside the ear with a cotton ball. Repeat this remedy every day for six days. Let the ears rest for three days, then repeat for another six days.
