Canned Pumpkin
-
Canned pumpkin is one at-home remedy for cat constipation. Combine the canned plain pumpkin with your cat's normal cat food if she won't eat it alone. Most cats will be happy to lick it off a plate or spoon, however. Feed the cat about 1 to 2 teaspoons of this treat once a day.
Water
-
Water is the obvious at-home remedy for anything, but especially stomach problems such as constipation. Some cats don't drink as much water as needed and thus, as a result, may be constipated. Offer the cat plenty of extra water to help loosen up her bowel movements and pass them through her body.
Metamucil
-
Another option for cats is Metamucil. Mix this product with any canned cat food so it's easy for the cat to ingest. It is very important to mix this only with canned food as it may be difficult to swallow otherwise. Ensure that it is mixed very well within the canned food and give 1/4 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon a day until relief appears.
