Instructions for Terramycin for Animals

Terramycin, also known as oxytetracycline, is an opthalmic drug used to prevent and treat eye infections caused by certain bacteria, viruses and protozoa. It is most commonly used in cats, dogs, and horses, and works by inhibiting the reproduction of disease-causing proteins. Pink eye, infections of the eyelid and cornea and diseases caused by staphylococci can all be treated with this drug. Depending on your location, terramycin ointment is available over the counter or with a prescription; ask your local veterinary professional for purchasing information.
