Instructions
Consult your veterinarian to determine the severity of your cat's constipation. Severe cases of constipation require immediate medical treatment. However, if the condition is mild, using a home remedy, such as milk, is effective.
Offer your cat a dish of milk twice daily. Fill the dish with 1/8 cup of milk in the morning and repeat this procedure at night. Continue this method until your cat's bowel movement becomes regular.
Use a medicine dropper to administer milk to a cat that refuses to drink milk from a dish. Give 1 cc of milk every five minutes for an hour, this should produce a bowel movement within two hours. Repeat this procedure twice daily until your cat produces regular bowel movements.
Mix 2 tablespoons of milk into your cat's moist food if the cat refuses to drink milk or will not take milk from a dropper. Do this twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening until your cat produces regular bowel movements.
