Discovering that your cat has worms can be a horrible experience. There are all sorts of signs, such as weight loss or vomiting. While taking your cat to the vet is the logical thing to do, it isn't the cheapest. Depending on the severity of the worms, there are treatments that you can give your cat at home. These will be much cheaper and easier than taking your cat to the vet.
  1. Wormwood Extract

    • This is for treatment of roundworms, tapeworms or hookworms. Wormwood extract is a treatment that is gentler than other treatments and can be given in your cat's food two to three times a day. You should continue treatment for three to five weeks or until you are sure the worms are gone.

    Worm Syrup

    • Worm Syrup is for both dogs and cats and is for treating roundworms. You can give your cat the treatment by adding it to the cat food or even by just squirting a few drops into their mouth.

    All Wormer Tablets

    • This is for the treatment of hookworms, roundworms and tapeworms. Treatment is safe for all cats over 6 weeks of age and the tablets have a pleasant taste that make it easier to administer.

    Wormer Paste

    • Wormer paste is for treatment of roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. Any cat from the age of 6 weeks and up can be treated with wormer paste and it can be easily dispensed with the syringe. An alternative dosing method is mixing the paste into your cat's food.

    Profender Allwormer

    • This is a treatment for all worms and is applied on the fur of the cat. This claims to be one of the most effective methods and is recommended for use on cats that are over 8 weeks old. It is important to apply treatment on the back of the cat's neck so that it cannot be licked off by the cat.

    Revolution Blue

    • Revolution Blue is a treatment for all parasites affecting your cat. It is a monthly topical solution that will not be washed off by rain. It is applied on the back of the cat's neck and can be used on cats that are 6 weeks of age and up.
