How to Treat Respiratory Infections in Cats With Vitamin A

Cats can suffer from respiratory infections just as humans do. Outdoor cats are particularly susceptible to such infections due to environmental changes. Signs of respiratory infections in cats include congestion, fever, coughing, nasal discharge, lethargy, instability, and not eating or drinking. Vitamin A is helpful to the cat's immune system in terms of fighting infection. Vitamin A keeps skin and mucus membrane cells moist and healthy, making them more resistant to cell damage. Use tuna to give kitty the vitamins, which makes taking them a treat instead of a traumatizing event.
