How to Use Garlic to Control Fleas With Cats

Fleas are wingless insects that suck on animals' blood. Cats will usually scratch themselves or gnaw at their fur when they have fleas. Using garlic as a flea repellent is a natural, chemical-free way to rid your cat and your home of these pests.

  • 1 cup of mineral oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Plastic spray bottle
  • 1 pt. of water

Instructions

      Mince a clove of garlic by cutting it into small pieces.

      Pour the minced garlic into a cup of mineral oil.

      Let the garlic soak in the mineral oil for a day.

      Pour two tsp. of the garlic and mineral oil mixture into a plastic spray bottle.

      Add one pt. of water to the plastic spray bottle.

      Secure the top onto the plastic spray bottle and shake it well.

      Spray the mixture onto your cat's fur so the whole coat is covered with the mixture.

      Repeat once a week until the fleas are gone.
