Signs Your Cat Is In Heat
Rubbing up against the furniture and you more often is a sign your cat is in heat. Your cat will also be more affectionate toward you and will give you a lot of cuddles, kisses and affection.
Excessive meowing is another sign. Your cat may walk around your home howling at all hours of the day and the sound she emits may be higher pitched than usual.
Scratching at the door and windows is another way to tell that your cat is in heat. This is a sign that your cat is attempting to escape your home.
Rolling around on the floor and walking around with her tail to the right or the left is also an indication.
Petting your cat on the bottom of her back will result in your cat scratching at the floor and raising her high quarter during a heat cycle.
Signs Your Cat Is Pregnant
Increased affection is a way to tell your cat is pregnant. She will want to be near you and your other family members every moment.
Look for motherly behavior. Your cat will show affection and focus her motherly instincts towards objects in your home, including shoes, boxes and toys.
Gaining weight is another sign. Your cat will be craving more food and it will show in her larger belly that will also grow because of the kittens inside.
Watch for a growth and ̶0;pinking̶1; of your cat̵7;s nipples. This usually occurs three weeks after conception.
How to Tell If a Cat Is in Heat or Pregnant?
A cat gains the ability to become pregnant when she reaches sexual maturity, which generally occurs at anywhere from four to 10 months of age. On average this first heat cycle occurs at six months. There are several signs that you can watch for if you feel that your cat is either in heat, or has become pregnant. Cats are generally pregnant for 60 to 67 days and the litter size can range from one kitten to more than 10.
