Instructions

    • 1

See your local vet to get a prescription for Zymox. Zymox is effective at getting rid of fungus, and it does not have any harmful side effects.

    • 2

Massage your cat's ear at the base. You may want to wear a set of plastic gloves for this. Keep massaging for about half a minute.

    • 3

Use a cotton ball to wipe away any discharge that comes loose after you have massaged the ears. You want to get the discharge out first so that the medicine will be able to reach the fungus.

    • 4

Place the tip of the Zymox bottle into your cat's ear canal and squeeze. Don't squeeze hard, however. You just need to administer enough medication to reach the fungal infection, plus a little extra in case your cat shakes its head afterward.

    • 5

Repeat with the other ear if the cat has a fungal infection in both ears. Follow your vet's instructions as to how many times per day, and how many days the Zymox needs to be administered. Expect it to be once or twice per day for about seven to 14 days.

Pet the cat, and give him some love. This will calm the cat down and make the experience less traumatic.
