Things You'll Need
- Rags or old clothes
- Cardboard box or plastic box with lid
- Knife
Instructions
Find a cardboard box or plastic box with sides that are somewhat tall so that the kittens cannot wander off after they are born. Do not use a small box or your cat might go find another place to have her babies.
Tear rags into strips to provide soft and comfortable padding for the box. Place the strips in the box.
Make small air holes around the sides so that the cats can breathe easily. You will need to use a knife to cut the holes. Do not make the holes large enough that the kittens could get their heads stuck and suffer injury.
Cut another larger hole part way up the side so that the mother can get in and out to use her litter box.
Place the lid on top or close up the cardboard box.
Show the cat the box so that she can get accustomed to it.
