Instructions
Wash your hands free of germs before you begin to work on your cat. You don't want to add to the chances that your cat will develop an infection.
Clip the hair around the wound with a pair of scissors so that you can see it better. This will help you treat the cat bite.
Wash the wound and surrounding area with antibacterial soap and water. It is important that you get the area clean and dislodge and dirt or debris that may have gotten in the wound before the cat returned home.
Mix one capful of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide solution with five capfuls of water. Pour over the wound to disinfect it. Use a paper towel to dry the area when you are done.
Apply an antibiotic cream to the wound and then wrap with a bandage. Change every six to eight hours and apply a new layer of cream.
