Instructions

  1. Echinacea Tea

    • 1

Bring one half gallon of water to a full boil over high heat in a stainless steel pot. Add one cup of dried shredded Echinacea root to the boiling water. Continue to boil for ten minutes. Remove the tea from the heat and let it cool completely.

    • 2

Strain the tea through the strainer into the one-gallon container. Put the Echinacea root in the bowl and save it for later. Return half the tea to the pot and boil it for approximately one hour. This will reduce the tea by half. Let it cool and store it in a one-quart jar. You can label this jar ̶0;concentrated.̶1; This tea will be used as an internal anti-biotic. Pour the other half of the tea into a one-quart jar. This is your anti-septic wash.

    • 3

Clean your cat̵7;s abscess with the anti-septic wash. Use the wash in the same way you would hydrogen peroxide or alcohol. Repeat this two to three times a day.

    • 4

Mix ¼ cup of the concentrated tea into one cup of milk. Give this mixture to your cat at least two times a day. The anti-biotic properties will help her fight the infection from the inside.

    Compress

    • 5

Mix one cup of marigold flowers with a half cup of the leftover Echinacea root.

    • 6

Add just enough boiling water to wet the flower petals. Crush the flowers and Echinacea root together with the spoon. Wrap a golf ball size lump of this mixture in a sterile rag.

    • 7

Put the compress over your pets abscess and tie it into place with either a string or gauze. The compress should be freshened every two hours. To do this let the whole thing soak in hot water for five minutes. This reactivates the compress. Keep the abscess covered with the compress for as long as your cat will allow. Keep Treating the abscess with the tea and compress for seven days or until the condition is better.
