    • Hair loss around the eyes is usually nothing to worry about. Just as most men begin to notice thinning hair around the temples, most cats will experience thinning hair around the eyes.

    Time Frame

    • Hair thinning starts to occur in cats between 14 to 20 months of age and will continue until they reach 3 years old.

    Warning

    • If you notice a lesion, redness or one eye with significantly less hair than the other, your cat may have a problem. You should take it to veterinarian to be examined.

    Identification

    • Abnormal hair loss around the eyes could stem from anything from food allergies to lice to an infection of the hair follicles.
