Clavamox is a mix of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid and aids in eliminating skin and soft-tissue infections, such as abscesses, wounds, cellulitis, dermatitis and urinary-tract infections (UTI). The recommended dosage for cats is 6.25 mg per pound of body weight, twice a day. Do not stop administering the medicine before the recommended time period is complete; this may cause the infection to last longer and possibly worsen. In addition, Clavamox should be kept in a cool, dry area where the temperature exceeds 77 degrees F.
