      Before applying Frontline Plus flea medicine to your cat or dog, give him a bath. Although Frontline Plus is waterproof, it is a good idea to not have to bathe your pet for at least a week after you have applied Frontline flea medicines.

      Go to your local pet store or veterinary clinic to purchase Frontline Plus. There are a few different flea control products in the Frontline series. Since Frontline Plus is the top selling flea medicine product, we will discuss the uses of that product specifically.

      Choose the correct formula of Frontline Plus for your pet. The formulas as based on the weight of your pet. If you have visited the vet recently, they usually have your pet's weight on file in their charts. If you have not been to the vet recently, step on your home scale with your pet, and calculate the difference.

      Before applying Frontline Plus, please read all the instructions in the package. You should only use Frontline Plus on pets older than 8 weeks of age. Frontline Plus is safe to use on pregnant and nursing dogs. Do not give it to the nursing puppies or kittens. Frontline Plus is always applied topically. It is not meant to be given orally or ingested.

      Carefully open your package of Frontline Plus. One tube is equal to one dosage for one pet for one month. Frontline Plus is water proof for pets that swim, do water sports or are bathed. Carefully put the tube at the base of your pets neck and gently press the tube down into the fur so the liquid can make contact with your pet's skin. Run the small tube down the length of your pet, to the base of their tail, using the entire tube of liquid. Wash your hands after applying Frontline Plus to your pet.

      Avoid petting or allowing children to touch the pet for at least an hour after applying Frontline Plus, so the medicine can soak in and dry. Allow the pet to move around so the medicine will dry faster. Reapply Frontline Plus flea medicine once per month.
