Dosing Instructions for Frontline Plus for Cats

Frontline Plus is a highly effective flea-and-tick-prevention product designed for dogs and cats. The active ingredient, fipronil, is applied to the skin behind the shoulders and works it way into the natural oils of your cat's skin. Each application is waterproof and will last for 30 days. Unlike with dogs, for whom the Frontline dosage is based on weight, there is only one dose available for cats. It is easy to apply, and will have your cat flea- and tick-free in as little as 2 days.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase Frontline Plus for Cats from your veterinarian or a pet-supply store. All cats receive the same dose of Frontline Plus--0.5 ml--regardless of their size or weight, so there is only one type of Frontline Plus for Cats that you can buy.

    • 2

Remove the Frontline Plus from its child-safe packaging by cutting off the top and peeling back the foil. Each Frontline Plus applicator is conveniently sized to include one 0.5 ml dose, which protects your cat for 30 days.

    • 3

Snap off the tip of the Frontline Plus applicator.

    • 4

Hold your cat and gently part the hair behind her shoulder blades.

    • 5

Squeeze the Frontline Plus applicator onto your cat's skin where you have parted the hair. Apply it directly onto the skin and in one location only. Use the entire contents of the applicator.

    • 6

Wash your hands thoroughly after applying Frontline Plus.

    • 7

Repeat the application every 30 days to protect your cat from fleas and ticks.
