Determining a cat's age is usually reserved for a veterinarian's skilled hands and eyes. But with a few helpful tips you will be able to look at your cat and approximate his age in no time.
Instructions
Examine your pet's eyes. If they are glossy and clear your cat is probably young, somewhere between the years of 1 and 5. If your cat's eyes have a gooey appearance or seem hazy, your cat is older than 5. If the cat's eyes are beginning to look murky than she is between 15 to 20.
Glance at her teeth. They will be extremely white in a young cat and will begin to yellow as the cat ages. As your cat approaches old age, her teeth may start to fall out.
Brush your cat's hair often. Note any texture changes. As a cat grows older her hair will thin. The hair will begin to lose it's shine and will not be as thick as it was when she was young.
