Having a happy and healthy cat is an important component of pet ownership. Fleas are not only a nuisance to your cat, they can also cause animal illness and human headaches. Fleas can cause skin allergies and infections, bite humans and transmit tapeworm. Caring for your cat with a monthly flea treatment such as Advantage can save your pet from a dreaded flea outbreak. Advantage can be used during an outbreak to kill fleas, their larvae and eggs, as well as monthly to prevent a flea infestation. The product starts working immediately on biting fleas and continues to work for a month after application.

Instructions
Obtain Advantage flea treatment from your Veterinarian. Doses are available to two sizes: for cats/kittens 9 lbs and under, or for cats more than 9 lbs.
Open Advantage applicator appropriate for your cat's size by removing cap and using the end of the cap to break the seal on the applicator. Twist cap to break the seal, and remove unsealed cap from tube.
Hold or position cat securely in front of you. Prepare treatment location by parting the hair at the back of the cat's neck, near the base of the skull, above and between the shoulder blades.
Apply liquid directly to the skin located between the parted hairs. Try to position the application in the region near the base of the skull that will be difficult for the cat to lick. In order for the product to work, it must be applied to the skin and not just the fur.
Squeeze applicator tube several times to dispense all liquid. Wipe any excess product from your cat's fur if necessary.
Wrap empty tube in newspaper, and discard. Clean up any spills immediately with a damp towel to prevent cat from ingesting product.
