How heavy can a liger get?

Liger males can reach up to 1000 pounds (450 kg), while females can reach up to 800 pounds (360 kg).

This is significantly larger than either of their parent species:

* Lions: Typically weigh 350-550 pounds (160-250 kg)

* Tigers: Typically weigh 400-700 pounds (180-320 kg)

The reason for their larger size is due to a phenomenon called hybrid vigor or heterosis. This occurs when two different species are crossed, resulting in offspring with increased size, strength, and overall health. However, it's important to note that this isn't always the case and can vary depending on the individual liger.
