How many layers of skin does a cat have?

A cat, like humans, has three main layers of skin:

1. Epidermis: The outermost layer, responsible for protection, waterproofing, and pigmentation.

2. Dermis: The middle layer, containing blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, sweat glands, and sebaceous glands.

3. Hypodermis: The innermost layer, composed of fat and connective tissue, providing insulation and cushioning.
