How do I Troubleshoot a Spray Sentry Cat Deterrent?

The Spray Sentry is a product designed to keep cats off or away from certain areas in your home. It uses a motion detector and makes a hissing or horn noise to scare the cat away from the area. When the Spray Sentry isn't working correctly, inspect it to determine if the spray nozzle is obstructed or batteries need to be replaced.

Wave your hand in front of the Spray Sentry. If you hear a hissing or horn sound, but no spray is coming out, wipe the hole with a hot, damp cloth. Wave your hand again. If the spray is still not working, replace the spray. If no sound or spray is coming out, replace the batteries.

Replace the spray by removing the cap from Spray Sentry refill. Unscrew the Spray Sentry from the spray solution bottle. Throw away the old bottle. Screw the Spray Sentry on the new refill spray bottle. Attempt the process again.
