How to Troubleshoot a Littermaid Elite Litterbox

Cats typically use a litter box from three to five times each day, which can lead to frequent smells and messes. The electric Littermaid Elite litter box automatically rakes cat litter after each use to help reduce odor and make cleaning the litter box easier. At times, the rake tracks in an automatic litter box can become jammed or the motor stops working properly. You can troubleshoot the litter box and return it to working order in just a few minutes.

      Unplug the litter box and completely clean it out by removing all litter. Make sure there are no batteries in the battery box; plugging in the device with batteries in it could mess up the cleaning process.

      Unlatch the latches on each side of the litter box, take off the top portion of the litter box and set it aside.

      Locate the rake tracks and run your fingers along them. This will break loose any wet litter that may be stuck inside the tracks, stopping the rake from moving smoothly.

      At the end of each rack you will see a button. Push all track buttons simultaneously and hold them down for a couple seconds. Repeat this process five times to completely reset the device.

      Reassemble the litter box and plug it in. Fill the box with litter again turn it on.
