Things You'll Need
- 13 inch-by-19 inch piece of 3/4-inch plywood
- Carpeting to cover
- Staple gun or furniture tacks
- 2 metal L-shaped brackets (1/2 inch by 1/2 inch)
- 6 1/2-inch wood screws and screwdriver to fit your screws
- Shelf bracket
Instructions
Attach the carpet to the piece of wood using the staples or furniture tacks. The soft side of the carpet should cover the top where the cat will sit. Secure the carpet on the underside of the wood.
Using the wood screws, fasten the L-shaped brackets on the underside of the wood, flush on the 19-inch side.
Use two more wood screws to screw the shelf bracket onto the bottom side, flush on the long side, centered between the short sides. You do not need to screw the shelf bracket into the wall; gravity holds it in place.
Open the window and place the cat bed into position.
Screw the L-shaped bracket to the double hung window frame. Shut the window. This will secure the cat bed.
Inspect the cat bed to make sure it is level and the shelf bracket is against the wall. Make minor adjustments as necessary.
