Things You'll Need
- 90 inch or 2.45 yard-long fabric
- 108 inch or 2.80 yard-long fabric
- 56-inch long fabric or lace
- 10 to 15 binder clips
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
Instructions
Use a sewing machine to hem the ends of all three pieces of fabric so you do not have frayed ends. If you do not have a sewing machine, hand-sew the ends by folding a 1/2 inch of the edge over and sewing it to the fabric with needle and thread to make a clean edge.
Place the 56-inch long fabric or lace on the show table and place the cage on top of the fabric to hold it in place. Most fabric is sold 45 inches wide, so you only need to worry about the length.
Fold one edge of the 108-inch long fabric over the front wire of one of the side walls of the cage. Hold in place with a binder clip at the top and bottom corners. Wrap the fabric around the side, back wall and opposite side wall and secure the other end of the fabric to the front wire of the other side. This leaves the front of the cage open to the public. Secure the other edge with binder clips to the top and bottom corner, as well. Using binder clips, secure the fabric to the wires on the back wall and at the other corners of the cage.
Drape the 90-inch fabric on top of the cage. Drape six inches of fabric over the front. Secure this fabric to the top of the cage with binder clips.
