Things You'll Need
- Five pieces of cardboard of equal size
- Fabric
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine (optional)
- Needle and thread
- Polyester fiberfill
- Measuring tape
- Pins
Instructions
Cut 10 squares of fabric. The pieces should be 5 inches larger than each of your cardboard sheets on all sides. If your cardboard pieces measure 24 inches by 24 inches, your fabric pieces should measure 29 inches by 29 inches.
Turn your fabric inside out in pairs of two, so that the patterned sides, if applicable, are facing each other. You should have five pairs of fabric that are turned inside out.
Sew along three edges of each pair of fabric. You should now have what resemble five sacks of fabric.
Turn your sacks right side out. Place one cardboard piece into each of the sacks.
Stuff each sack with a generous amount of polyester fiberfill. Over-stuff each one.
Turn the raw edges of the openings of the sacks. Pin and sew them shut, so that no raw edges are exposed.. Fluff out the fiberfill so that it lays evenly along the length of each sack. You should not be able to feel the cardboard.
Choose one of your five stuffed sacks to be the bottom of your bed. Use a needle and thread to hand stitch three of the remaining four stuffed sacks to the side seams of the bottom sack.
Place the final stuffed sack on top of the three sides you just secured. Stitch this in place as well.
If desired, sew a small curtain of fabric to the one exposed side of the cube to give your cat privacy.
