Things You'll Need
- Box, storage container or laundry basket
- Scissors, knife or cutting tool (such as box cutter)
- Blankets, pillow cases, towels or old clothes
Instructions
Find an empty box large enough for your cat. You can also use a laundry basket, or some other type of plastic storage container. There should be room for your cat to stretch out, but nothing larger. If the bed is too big, the cat may not feel secure.
Cut out one side of the box so the cat can see what is going on around it. Cats enjoy watching the world around and often feel secure when they can see this.
Place a folded up blanket in the bed. You can also use pillow cases, soft towels or even old clothing. The material should be clean. If there are bad scents on the material the cat may dislike it. Wash the material before you place it in the bed.
Put the bed in a location your cat will like. If your cat is often lays in one particular place, you might try placing the bed at that location. Cats enjoy being under things. Try placing the bed under a table or desk. Some cats like high places. You could put the bed on top of a large shelf or on the cabinets. Do not put the bed where there is heavy traffic in your house.
