Operational Problems
-
If the litter box doesn't operate the way it should, there is either too much litter in the box or the sensors are dusty. Make sure the litter in the tray doesn't reach above the full line. Wipe the sensor covers with a clean cloth. If the litter box doesn't operate at all when you turn it on, and you were using battery power, turn the power switch to the "off" position and make sure the batteries are installed properly. Turn the switch on and try running a cleaning cycle. If it still doesn't work, replace the batteries and try once more. If it doesn't run with fresh batteries, try using it on AC power. If you can't get the litter box to operate after you've done all of these things, call customer service (see References).
If you were using the AC adapter, make sure the plug is securely plugged into the jack on the litter box. Test your wall outlet with another appliance to make sure you have power or plug the litter box into another outlet. If the outlet is working, turn the litter box off and wait a couple of seconds, then turn it back on and try running it. If it doesn't work, unplug the adapter and use the battery power. If it won't run using the batteries, call customer service.
Cleaning Problems
-
If there are clumps of waste on the litter tray, you'll need to remove the tray and wash it with mild soap, rinse and dry it. Then use a silicon spray on the litter tray to prevent this problem in the future.
Don't spray the litter box itself with silicon or water. Never put the main unit in water. If the litter box isn't being cleaned completely, you might be using the wrong kind of litter. Rather than crystal litter, use a premium grade of clumping litter.
Light Problems
-
If the light doesn't come on when the unit is turned on, it's probably due to an interruption of power, such as a temporary power outage, or the batteries might not be installed properly. Make sure you have power, check the batteries and turn the switch to off and then on again.
If the light blinks constantly and slowly, the rake is stuck. Check the waste receptacle and, if it's full, make sure to empty it to keep the rake from getting jammed. Make sure the teeth on the rake are clean and don't have litter sticking to them.
If the light is blinking quickly, the batteries need to be replaced. If the light is completely off, the unit is probably not getting AC power or its batteries need to be replaced.
