Instructions
Get a wireless fence at your local pet supply store or hardware store. Check to see if the device comes with batteries or if you need to purchase them separately.
Determine where you want to place your wireless fence. Keep in mind that you will need to devote some effort to training your dog to know where the fence boundaries are. Since the boundaries are invisible, it's easier to train your dog if you make the fence boundaries coincide with walls, doorways and other existing boundaries.
Determine the distance settings for your wireless fence. Most come with several different distance settings up to a certain maximum distance. You will want to set the transmitter in a location that allows the transmission distance to reach your desired boundary, so if set the fence to project 3 feet from the transmitter, you will want to find a location for the transmitter that is 3 feet back from the boundary.
Place the transmitter within the fence boundaries at the correct distance and turn it on. Place the receiver on your dog. Take your dog for a walk around the house to familiarize him with the new boundaries. If possible, create visible boundaries (close a door or put up a barrier) for one to two weeks where the wireless fence boundaries are to help your dog learn where the fence is.
How to Dog Proof the Litter Box With a Wireless Fence
If you have a dog and a cat, you've probably come to realize that they need at least a little bit of space to themselves. Keep your puppy out of the kitty litter with a wireless fence and you can also restrict your dog from areas of the house where you don't want fur or damage. A wireless fence is easy to use and a great alternative to unsightly barriers.
