Instructions

    • 1

Find a cardboard box that's about 1.5 feet tall and 1-foot wide. Secure the bottom flaps and the edges with duct tape to strengthen the box. Staple a sheet of painter's plastic to the bottom and pull the edges of the plastic up the interior sides of the box. Staple them in place.

    • 2

Cut 2 strips of cardboard about 8-inches long and 5-inches wide. Outline 2 lengthwise ovals that are as wide as your four fingers together on each strip of cardboard. Cut the ovals out with your box cutter.

    • 3

Staple the ovals onto the top flaps of the cardboard box, approximately 2 inches from the outer edge of each flap. Fold each flap down to the edge of the box at the hal way point of each flap so that the flaps angle upward towards each other like an A-frame roof.

    • 4

Use a hook-and-loop strap, such as a rollerblade strap, or the removable snap-clasp handle of a duffel bag to close the two oval cut straps together. Then, make 3 or 4 half-dollar sized holes into both of the broad sides of the cat carrier. Make another hole, slightly larger, in the back.

Place an old cat towel into the bottom of the box so your feline has a familiar scent in the carrier.
