- Rubber mallet
- 48-inch roll of chicken wire
- Metal zip ties
- Pliers
Instructions
Use the tape measure to measure the amount of space you want the cat fence to cover.
Cut the PVC pipes. If you do not get the PVC pipes precut ahead of time, use a saw to cut the pipes to your preferred height. The pipes are the posts for the cat fence.
Prepare to install the PVC posts. Use the tape measure to place a post every 4 feet of fence. Dig a small amount of dirt out with your hand or a hand shovel.
Install the posts. Put the PVC post upright in the shallow hole that you dug in Step 3. Use the rubber mallet to pound the post about 1 foot in the ground. Repeat this step for all the posts.
Attach chicken wire to the posts. Press the chicken wire against the PVC post. Secure the wire to the top, center, and bottom of the post with a metal zip tie. Use the pliers to trim any excess metal after pulling the ties snugly. Repeat this for each PVC post until the area is entirely enclosed by wire.
