Instructions
Select a fabric that you want to make the cat shoes from. Think about what your cat will be using the shoe for. If they'll be designed to keep the cat's paws warm when it goes out in the snow, consider a heavy-duty leather or waterproof fabric. If the shoes are just for dressing up, choose a material with patterns and colors to match your pet's personality.
Cut the material into four circles. These should be large enough to cover each one of the cat's paws and extend up over the ankle. Use a stencil or cardboard cutout to ensure each piece of material is cut to the same size.
Poke holes around the perimeter of each fabric circle. These should be about a half-inch apart and a half-inch to a quarter-inch below the rim of the fabric. Use a paper hole punch to create the eyelets, if the fabric is thin enough. Otherwise snip the holes with a pair of scissors.
Select four pieces of ribbon or thick thread that will match the cat shoes. Weave each one through the eyelets of the shoes. When the two ends of the string are tightened and tied together, they will cinch the fabric to form a pocket for the cat's foot.
Loosen the cinches to place the shoes over your cat's paws. Tie the strings in a bow on each foot to secure the shoe in place.
