Glitter Ball Crafts

Some of the most popular toys for cats are glitter balls. These are soft, cotton-like balls with glittery ̶0;hairs.̶1; They range in 1- to 2-inch long diameters and are available in most pet supply stores. It is recommended that you use the 2-inch balls for your cats as these are less of a choking hazard. While plenty stimulating for your cats alone, you can create more toys out of these glitter balls as well.
  1. Giant Glitter Ball and Bell Glitter Ball

    • You can create a large glitter ball with a wiffle ball and 10 or so glitter balls. Simply insert glitter balls in the random holes of the wiffle ball to make a decorative wiffle ball for your cat. You can glue the little pom-poms on the wiffle as well. Or you can glue small glitter balls on a 1/2-inch to 1-inch bell ball to create a jingly and colorful toy for your cat.

    Roller Toys

    • You can make several types of crafts with glitter balls that form a roller shape, which your cat can push around. Make a log roller by using 4.5-inch long by 2.5-inch wide plastic tubing and placing small bells on the inside. Then seal off both ends by gluing the large glitter balls into the opening. You can also decorate the outside of the tube with small glitter balls. The tube will rattle and sparkle as your cats push it around. You can also make your cat a little barbell by taking a twisted cord and gluing a 1-inch glitter ball at either end.

Glitter Balls with Feathers and Beads

    • You can make some fun cat toys by combining the glitter balls with feathers and beads. You can glue a bead to a large glitter ball and glue three feathers to the bead so they stand up on the bead to form a dart shape. Make sure the bead you use is smaller than the glitter ball.
You can make a bead and glitter ball log your cat can bat around by gluing alternating glitter balls and beads until it is the desired length. Use beads and balls that are roughly the same size.
