Things You'll Need
- Mouse template
- Felt
- Scissors
- Dark and light brown embroidery floss and needle
- 5-inch piece of yarn
- Catnip, cotton batting and one jingle bell
Instructions
Print out your template and cut out your pieces (see Resources).
Pin your pieces to your felt and cut them out.
Remove the pins and paper pieces. You now have all of the pieces for your mouse.
Cut a piece of your dark brown floss and thread your needle. Mark a small dot on both of your side pieces for your eyes. Create your eyes with your needle and thread. They can be as simple as an "X" or make a French knot.
Pin your side pieces together with the right sides facing out.
Tie a knot in one end of your yarn and place the other end in between your two side pieces.
Thread your needle with your light brown floss and whipstitch the pieces together.
Place your outer and inner ear pieces together and cut a slit halfway up. Tack them in place with a couple stitches.
Sew your ears on with your light brown floss.
Pin your bottom piece to one of the side pieces and use a whipstitch to attach. Continue whipstitching around to the other side. Remember to leave an opening for the stuffing.
Stuff your mouse with some cotton batting, a jingle bell and some catnip (depending on the cat).
Whipstitch the opening close and your mouse is ready for play.
