Instructions

    • 1

Check out the neighborhood supermarkets or craft stores. Look for large cardboard boxes that are in great shape. It's important that they be clean. Pick boxes in various shapes and sizes for later use in your cat playground.

    • 2

Make your playground by laying out those boxes gathered in Step 1. Stack them both horizontally and vertically. Cats like to climb either way. Keep a few with an open space for sleeping or hiding.

    • 3

Buy a cat scratcher to place as a ramp leading up to the first box. Raise it at an angle to increase your cat's scratching fun. Sprinkle some catnip on it as added incentive.

    • 4

Gather one or a few feather dusters, and place these on top of one or two boxes. Have one dangle loosely. Tape one to a box so that it remains in place. Cats love to nuzzle against soft feathers.

Find an corrugated elongated cardboard, and roll it around to form a circle. Tape it together at the ends, Cats love to walk through a tunnel, especially if you line it with crushed tissue paper or crumpled up brown bags for noise. This should only be left out under supervision to avoid accidental smothering.
