Instructions
Lay out your fabric. You can use different fabrics for each side of the body, or you can use one type for the entire mouse.
Create a template for your mouse on a sheet of blank paper. Draw a teardrop shape about six inches long and four inches wide at its largest point. Cut out the teardrop shape. The teardrop will serve as the bottom of the mouse.
Trace the teardrop on another section of paper. Draw a line down the center of the teardrop length-wise. Cut out the two halves. Each half of the teardrop will be one side of the mouse.
Draw two small triangles on the sheet of paper, measuring about 3/4 of an inch on all sides. Cut out the triangles, which will serve as the ears.
Trace each paper template onto a piece of fabric with fabric chalk: the bottom teardrop piece, each half-teardrop side and the two triangle ears. Cut the pieces out of the fabric.
Cut a 5-inch length of yarn for the tail.
Place the two side body pieces together with the right sides of the fabrics facing each other. Sew the tops of the body pieces together. Match the bottom body piece up with the opening of the side body pieces, with the right side of the fabric facing inward. Sew the bottom piece to the bottoms of the side pieces. Leave a 1-inch opening to insert stuffing.
Flip the body right-side out by carefully pushing it through the 1-inch opening. Stuff the mouse with fiber fill through the opening.
Tie a knot in the end of the yarn tail. Stick the other end of the tail into the opening in the mouse body. Sew the hole shut, ensuring that you sew the tail to secure it to the body as you do so.
Fold the bases of the ear-triangles in half. Stitch the base of each triangle to each side of the mouse's head.
Use the paper templates you created as a guide to make more mice.
